How CBS handles personal data

1. Controller

The controller of your personal data is CBS credit brokerage services (hereinafter — CBS), Rīga, Latvia, e-mail cbs@cbs.lv. This policy explains what data we collect through the website cbs.lv, why, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Latvian Personal Data Processing Law.

2. What data we collect

When you use the contact form or write to us, we receive the data you provide: name, company, telephone, e-mail address and the content of your message. The website itself does not use analytics or advertising cookies; your language choice is stored only in your own browser (localStorage) and is not sent to us.

3. Why and on what legal basis

We process your data to answer your request and to prepare and negotiate a possible engagement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — steps prior to entering into a contract), and to keep records of our correspondence as our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where required by the Law on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorism and Proliferation Financing, we process data to fulfil a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

4. Who receives the data

Your data is stored on servers of our hosting and e-mail provider Infomaniak Network SA (Switzerland, a country with an EU adequacy decision). We share your data with banks and other financial institutions only within an engagement and only with your instruction. We do not sell or otherwise transfer personal data to third parties for their own purposes.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted no later than 24 months after our last contact. Data related to an engagement is kept for the duration of the contract and for the retention period required by law (as a rule, 5 years after the end of the business relationship).

6. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, write to cbs@cbs.lv. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data State Inspectorate of Latvia (Datu valsts inspekcija, Elijas iela 17, Rīga, LV-1050, dvi.gov.lv).
